In of fragile refractions, materials shift identities with each other, refracting a characteristic of its own onto another object and vice-versa creating a delicate flow throughout the piece. The sounds then both feel connected yet precarious, as they are constantly in flux and evolving their relationships. Further instability emerges also from the vastness in character of these materials, as some are at the precipice of silence, some involve silence, and others are strident and forceful. Of fragile refractions was written for and premiered by Vertixe Sonora.
